The boys do love to cuddle and play and be read to and Nana and Papa are all too ready to oblige them. (And thank you to Papa, for taking Lincoln in to see the basketball players that he has been so curious about.)

Caught in the Act
That moment when a one-year-old is quiet too long, so you go to investigate. He is either being so incredibly cute, that you are glad you didn't miss it. Or, he is doing something naughty, and again, you are glad you didn't miss it.

A Visit to the Dentist
The boys had such a blast today. At the dentist. I know right? How times have changed. I used to hate having to go to the dentist. I always felt like they were trying to drown me, and that gritty stuff and wearing a bib cause you are gagging on something or other... Not the experience these little guys are having. For one thing, there are game stations in the waiting room. And the exam rooms have cartoons playing on large screens on the ceiling. Also, Dr. Craik is kind of a natural when it comes to hanging out with little dudes.

Zeke's Birthday, Part 2
And then the clouds rolled in. And the winds picked up, and a giant cloud of dust hit us. So everyone grabbed something and we made a dash for the house. We were packed in and had a blast. Thanks to everyone for showing up and making it a memorable summer adventure.
Zeke's Birthday, Part 1
We knew that Ezekiel's fifth birthday was going to fall on one of the hottest days of the summer yet. So, Robb has been nervously crafting all manner of water features in our back yard. He borrowed several wading pools, made a slip and slide and a blob from Home Depot supplies and then Grandpa Robert brought a bouncy house.
Church Today
Rusty seemed particularly intent on smelling good for church today. I wonder who is expecting to see there today? For once, we all joined Ezekiel in his classroom. We had to be there for the birthday song and the vintage lightbulb board.

The Creativity of Children
Zeke has taken to wearing all black whenever possible. Ask him why. He will explain that he is a ninja. It might be slightly better than his previous imaginary persona (he claimed to be a "froggy-doggy"). And although it is over 100 degrees out there today, Zeke's only black shirt is long-sleeved and his only black pants are flannel lined.
And then there is Linc. At lunch he carefully arranged his remaining macaronis in a tidy pattern. Ask him why. He will point out that it is clearly a railroad track. Clearly.

Swimming Success
The boys all seem to be enjoying their lessons so far. The big boys particularly like doing "train" along the pool edge. And there does seem to be a large amount of splashing with their new friends. Rusty has so far mastered one of the earliest skills—getting out of the pool.
Dada's Socks
This little rogue. He rummaged through Robb's sock drawer and ran off with a couple of his favorites. He was pretty amused with himself.

Swimming Class
Here we go. Time for swimming classes again, and this summer all three boys will be getting in the pool. Ezekiel and Lincoln are in a class together. Everett will be in a parent-tot situation, so we are going to take turns in the water with him. It's been SOOO hot out lately that I was pretty jealous of Robb this evening.

Walla Walla Lavender Farm
Father's Day
An unsuspecting Robb, making his morning coffee. Three rascally little boys, who just dug into the dress-up trunk. The perfect start to Father's Day 2015.

Water Sabers
The boys and I did our weekly shopping trip this morning. They were really good, and each got a $1 light saber water gun when we left. After nap time, I washed dishes and they took turns trying to get drench my kitchen window. Totally worth it.
