Five Years Ago

Where we stood exactly five years ago today.

A few things have changed since that day, five years ago, when Robb and I said "I do." We thought we would take a new photo on the same spot this year.

A Red Balloon

It has been a rough week for the little one. He had to see his doctor for conjunctivitis (and a low-grade ear infection). He's been sleeping fitfully and whimpers all night. So when the nice lady (Barbara Bigger) gave him a red balloon, it was a welcome diversion.

Pirate Nursery

Robb made dozens of these little origami fishes for Zeke's mobile.
Grandma Marie is the artist behind the the ship painting.

Honu guards Zeke's pirate treasure.
(Finishing the treasure chest will be my next project!)

I'm so excited to finally have this room done (for now, at least). Since this was still our bedroom when Ezekiel was born, it took awhile. In fact the only thing I did to get his room ready before he came was to make the nautical pennant. Zeke's favorite part is playing peekaboo behind the closet curtains.

A Wee Stroll Around Bennington Lake

Finally, all that time practicing in the front yard is put to use!

Here's David putting on some bait.
(It's definitely not the fish he caught!)

Here fishy, fishy, fishy!

Awaiting Baby Pepper

The beautiful mommy-to-be.

Another beautiful mommy-to-be, Sherisa!

Kris and Shawntae threw a wonderful Easter morning baby shower for Chelane. There was some seriously awesome food and Ezekiel enjoyed flirting with all of the ladies. We can't wait to meet little Pepper, and I suppose it could be very soon!

Spring Sabbath

Yup, he's got four chompers now!

It is so much fun getting Ezekiel outside and introducing him to new things. He loves pulling up grass, tasting dirt clods and picking at the tulips and budding trees.

Extreme Close-up

Why do they grow up so quickly?

Rascally Ways

Ezekiel has his books and toys on the bottom shelf in our living room. Sometimes after he tires of playing with his things, he empties the second shelf. Today he graduates to emptying the third shelf of its bibles. I suppose it has to stop now, but I couldn't resist capturing him atop his literary pile.

First Playdate (and First Kiss)

Holding hands while taking in the view.

We were super excited to have Kennedi and her mommy over today. The kiddos were so fun to watch. They pretty much took turns grabbing toys from each other and pushed and shoved a little, but then there were hugs and kisses and some holding of hands. Julie, can we do this again?

Easter Basket Time

Even though Easter is still a few days off, we let Ezekiel open his basket. He bother with all the sweet goodies (daddy and mommy will help him out with those). He loved the little plastic tools, and I'll be cleaning up those crinkly strands of yellow paper for days to come. Thanks Grandma Lorraine!

Out Walking

The Coffee men out on an early morning shopping run.

It was such a pretty spring day that we couldn't resist getting out of the house for a bit. Ezekiel got to try out his new sunglasses, though I'm not sure he is pleased with the whole idea. For lunch we were treated to Grandpa's delicious lasagna. A perfect day, says I.

A Coffee Family Sabbath

Ezekiel spends some quality time with his good friend Mo.

Today was a very special Sabbath, as Grandpa Robert was visiting. He and Ezekiel spent lots of time cuddling and playing and taking pictures. We also got to celebrate Cameron's baptism by his daddy with an amazing feast at the Fitzgeralds.

Remembering Nisha

"Nisha Crawford entered quietly into our lives on April 15, 2010."
We long for the day when we will all be united.
