Summer Yum

We can't get enough of the fruits of summer. The watermelons from Hermiston are ripe and we just had one. It was so sweet we couldn't stop eating it. Then we spent a lovely evening at Lampson Blueberries. Though it was about 100 degrees out, between the two of us we picked 25 pounds. Can't wait to enjoy these as frozen treats with breakfast.

"Rad" Class Photos

So... This is my class. We're somewhat of a rowdy bunch as you can probably tell from the picture of Luke and me.

Wallowas Camping

What a weekend. We met up with Broc and Sherisa in Lostine for camping hiking and lots of yummy food. On Sabbath we took a 4-mile hike to Maxwell Lake. The mosquitos were swarming us, but the lake view was stunning! Of course, we had to stop by the Blue Banana for cool drinks before hitting the road.

Nature Photography

Just having fun with the camera on our Maxwell Lake hike. The first one is Robb's, the second is mine. I can't seem to do color.

Little Paper Shops

I found the link to the site from which I downloaded the little fish market, bakery and more. The site and instructions appear to be in Japanese or something, but are pretty easy to figure out. You have to be pretty bored to start one, but they are addictive.

The Surreptitious Gardener

Some months ago, Robb suggested that we put in a few tomato plants. I contended that we didn't have room for a garden, but we came away from The Home Depot with one anyway. Four tomato, two pepper and three watermelon plants later we have a mini-garden behind the carport. When I come home and he is nowhere to be found, it usually means he is out weeding the little plot. He even has a drip-system all set up to water each individual plant. This week we enjoyed our first garden-fresh tomato sandwiches.

Alaskan Gals

I have never, in my whole life, met someone remotely famous. I once spoke with Karl Haffner, but that is pretty much it. Apparently I need to visit the tiny and remote Eskimo village of Kotezbue, Alaska in order to rub shoulders with famous types. Mom, you are so cool.
