Framing
Finally, the fun begins. That blow-in insulation stuff? Not as much fun as you would think. And being wise, you probably didn't think it would be fun at all. Such a mess. To top it off, I left the laundry shoot door open and now the upper level of the house is also filled with a fine, but non-toxic dust.
But, moving on. Today we got to frame in the closet and little partial wall. And even started on hanging the sheetrock. It is starting to actually look different now!

Zeke Art
Why do I think this Zeke picture is so funny? Probably because of how he described it to me when I got home. The guy has been eating cookies, apparently. You can see some in his mouth. And now he is grouchy because of bananas? And his eyes are filling up with tears. Seriously, you'll have to ask him what is going on...

Lake Adventures
What a perfect day! We loaded up the family and headed up to Lake Jubilee for the afternoon. It was gorgeous as we walked around and watched the lake for Jesse and Rachel. We eventually spotted a cute little red sail, and flagged them down. Robb tried a little fishing, Zeke splashed in the water and Grandpa Robert snapped some pics.

We're sailing! Well, Jesse is, but Zeke is being pretty bossy.

It's Party Time
So, for Lincoln's first birthday, we just had a little supper and cake with friends.
I let Zeke pick out the cake and frosting (and sprinkles and cake decor). Well, wouldn't you know it, it was a pink monstrosity. Originally it was just the frosting, with a white cake, but we went down the aisle and he changed his mind so we had to go back so it would all be pink. To be fair, it is his favorite color, so I think he was trying to do something nice...
I love his impish grin. Lincoln's as well.
Digging in.

Weddings and Such
Today we attended the wedding of Jimmy Kack to Lisa! Uncle Larry has been hard at work to make his place look stunning for the event, so we had been hearing about it quite a lot. As always, it is great to be able to have the family together for happy events. It was a blazingly hot day, but we all cooled off in the stream and enjoyed great fellowship.
Trying to beat the heat.
The happy couple.
Two sweet little girls.
As much of this clan as we could gather together!

A Big Event
Everett had a special pinning ceremony tonight and we got to go! Luckily for us, it was date night, so the boys are happily at home and we got to celebrate this awesome achievement. He's and LPN as of now and in less than a year will be getting his RN. Way to go Ev!

To the River
We were so excited to join the Fitzgeralds on the river today. Lincoln may have been less than thrilled to be wearing a bulky life vest in such hot weather, but the breeze was great and he loved watching all of the commotion.
Getting to watch daddy show off a bit.
Zeke loved riding on the raft with daddy, he didn't want to stop.

Our Chicken Coop
Somehow, we finally got around to working on our chicken coop today. Don't get me wrong, it has served our little flock well for over a year now, but it isn't really finished. Mostly, I was eager to clean up a pile of leftover siding from the old place and this was the ideal spot for it.
We got a nice early start while Lincoln took his morning nap. Zeke was happy to run around exploring and it was oddly overcast (perfect!) all morning.
The boys kept themselves entertained all afternoon with a pile of sand and the garden hose. I can't even venture a guess as to how much sand Lincoln may have ingested. It wasn't pretty. And Zeke kept "accidentally" spraying him down, but it really heated up this afternoon, so it was kind of okay.
A little closer to being finished. I need to paint it now!
