Women of Faith
Alright, these photos are pretty dismal, but Women of Faith was pretty fun. Julie Fitzgerald had some extra tickets, so she and Kristyn Dybdahl and I headed off in the minivan for Spokane. My favorite part was the Steven Curtis Chapman concert on Friday night. He has such an amazing story and I was moved to tears. Yikes. Also, Mandisa was there. I hadn't heard about her before, but I guess she was a contestant on Amerian Idol and is now pretty much devoted to gospel music. I thought she was lovely.

Fun in Seattle
I went to Seattle with my class this last month, for a couple of days. We were there to see what goes on in some of the larger hospitals, to see how they compare to the one's that we work in at home. Although, I had a great time in the hospitals my favorite part of the trip was in the evenings when I was able to hang out with friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. Ben Blood, one of my best buds, showed me as much of the town as he could in the little daylight that was available to us. So much fun was had.

I Heart Potluck
I think the only time I cook/bake is for potluck. Robb requested Peanut Butter bars and I don't have to be talked into making those. There were even leftovers, (un)fortunately, so we got to finish them off. As usual, we manned the dish-washing station with a little help from Michael.
Peanut Butter Bars
Bring 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. light syrup to boiling. Add 3/4 c. peanut butter and 1/2 t. vanilla and stir well. Turn off heat and add 3 c. Rice Krispies and stir. Quickly transfer to greased 9" x 13" dish. Melt 1/2 c. butterscotch chips and 1 c. chocolate chips and spread over Rice Krispies. Let cool and harden before serving.

Bloomsday Winners
This is the real reason they run—the post-run treats. Pat and John have become such avid runners that they convinced Robb to try the Bloomsday run in Spokane this year. He finished the 12 K run in 1:16, so I am quite proud of him. John finished in 1:30 and Pat placed 7th in her age group with a time of 1:24. I think I had better start training, they are making me look bad.
