Friends?
Sometimes they are the best of friends. Sometimes they like to share. I'm not sure if today is one of those days...
Cookie Time
The cookie pro shows us how it's done.
Gabby and I planned a little cookie bake for this morning. Robb actually mixed up the candy cane cookie dough last night so it would be ready. Zeke was pretty good at rolling out the coils while I assembled. Meanwhile, Lincoln and Gabby mixed up some sugar cookie dough. We were all stoked when Uncle David and Oliver stopped by on an errand and stayed to help.
Gabby puts on the finishing touches.
The boys eagerly await the finished product.

Buddies
The boys have both latched on to little stuffed buddies. Zeke's preference usually changes every few months, and he is currently best friends with a little Alaskan salmon which he has dubbed, "Fishy Friend." Lincoln loves on anything furry, so has been dancing around with a little puppy all day. They really are the sweetest little guys sometimes. We even got to cuddle and read books together. Lincoln usually only wants to turn the pages, but today he actually seemed to be listening to the story!

Snow. Snow!!
Oh, the magic of an early morning snowfall. The boys were raring to get outside and play in the stuff. Zeke has pretty fond memories of last year and is a pro by now. He suited up and was running around looking for clean snow to eat. Lincoln was a different story entirely. I think he thought it all looked like fun. But then he touched the snow and realized it was cold. He is not a fan.

Oh Christmas Tree
One of my favorite days of the year is putting up the Christmas tree. Because of a certain festive toddler in this house, we've all been subjected to Christmas music since at least September. But, we have been more in the mood for Christmas than ever before. You would think that nothing is better than being a kid at Christmas. But the truth is, it is even being a parent at Christmas.
After cleaning up from the party, we packed the kids in the car and headed to the tree lot. We had to wake up Zeke when we got there, but when he realized what we were up to, he was wide awake. The boys did a great job of choosing a tree that was just right and we got it home and lit up tonight. Tomorrow we'll add the ornaments.
Baby Bellies
Welcoming Baby Balu
Sherisa and I were honored to host a baby shower for the Fackenthalls. Sherisa whipped up a couple of wonderful soups and set out a slew of breads and spreads. Yum. Our house was packed to the very corners, so it was a lot of fun. We even did some shower games for which Jo and Chelane were super good sports.
The expectant grandparents fashion babies out of play dough.
