Travels

We are headed out on yet another adventure. Of course, getting to our destination always tends to be a big part of the adventure. It was fun for Zeke to have his own seat this time. He thought he was a pretty big boy. That and the flight attendants kept offering him juice. Clearly this was as close to heaven as he could get.




But, the best part of any trip is actually getting to your destination. The boys were so excited to be able to run free. Lincoln showed off his cruising skills and enjoyed the bounty of Californian fresh fruit. And, of course, there were cuddles all around.

Cats!

We got into Spokane yesterday for Bloomsday weekend. Taylor and Nilmini have been taking care of us and it has been a lot of fun. After church, we checked out Cat Tales.

Pretty much every kind of cat you can imagine lives here. There were lions and tigers and even a bear. I especially loved the Siberian White Tigers. These guys were huge and it was sort of scary to be that close.

Zeke found all of the little statues, and even convinced his dad to ride on the monkeys with him.

Hood View

We decided to check out the Hood View church and saw some old friends. Zeke enjoyed story time with Sara Westermeyer (they give you goldfish crackers to eat!) and Lincoln even got to "ride" the camel.

What a great opportunity to get a shot of these four Coffee men, all looking so dapper. Zeke decided to pout for the picture, just because we asked him to smile. He required tickling.

Quick Trip

We got to make a run over to Portland this weekend to see Grandpa Robert and Grandma Eva! It was so much fun watching Zeke and his grandpa play. They are totally smitten with each other.

Zeke had a blast opening presents and snuggling with Madison and Julie too.

Mellow Sunday

We had such a wonderful weekend in Portland that it was hard to leave. Grandpa Harold and Grandma Ellen are awesome hosts and we look forward to visiting again.

Gettin' Out of Town

We were pretty excited to be going for a little trip this weekend. Jesse and Rachel planned the whole thing and we hopped in the car this evening and took off. Zeke actually enjoyed the car ride, spotting several choo choo trains along the way. He also learned a new skill, getting big rig trucks to honk their horns for him.

The Magic iPad

For traveling with a little one, the iPad is pure magic. Seriously. What would normally be a squirmy, irritable, grabby little guy is suddenly transformed into a still, contented, focused wee man. Robb loaded the iPad with all sorts of educational baby apps (thanks, Padmini!) and we were good to go. We also had a new experience in that Ezekiel actually fell asleep in Robb's arms in broad daylight. A first for us since he was a newborn.

Seattle Airport

When traveling with a little one, there are very few perks, so we were pretty stoked to discover this little oasis. Sea-tac has this little play area that is pretty much perfect for a three-hour layover.

Montana Weekend Retreat

With Robb working regular hours now, we finally have weekends to ourselves! We couldn't wait to visit our lovelies in Montana and hit the road. Ezekiel loved sitting in the middle, looking out the windshield. I think the scenery has never been so beautiful.

New Car Seat

Zeke has just graduated to a forward-facing seat. He is really excited about being able to see what is going on. He keeps making adorable squeaks and chatters.

An entire city block dedicated to the production of chocolate? Yes please. We stopped at a little restaurant for lunch, then on to the main event: chocolate malt shakes and hot fudge sundaes.

We're in California for a quick weekend. We're going to attend Amanda's graduation from Saint Mary's College, visit with family (nanas and papas) and maybe see some sights.
