Matchy-Matchy

Handsome Coffee men.

Super cute mini couple.

When Robb saw Grandpa's church shirt, he decided that he and Ezekiel needed to follow suit. Hawaiian shirts all around!

Sabbath Morning

Zeke with some of his favorite people at church.

Good little singers.

We're still working on tactics to keep Ezekiel quiet/still through church. So far here is what's working:
• A Good Long Morning Nap—The timing is usually a bit iffy.
• Church Before Sabbath School—Yay, the University Church is back to regular schedule! The early service is also quite a bit shorter, so that helps too.
• Sitting With Friends—As long as he is not on mom or dad's lap, he is much more content to sit still. And he loves friendly faces in the pews behind him. This week he sat with Grandpa the whole time and was a perfect angel.
• Toys That Don't Make Noise or Roll—We have to ration these throughout the length of the service. I made a felt book for him last month and have forgotten to take it with us to church EVERY week.
• Snacks and Drinks—They only work as a last resort.

Ezekiel Photo of the Day

Grandpa is here for the weekend and snapped this pic of an expectant Ezekiel.

"Waya is ma suppa!?"

New Teeth (Ouch!)

Zeke has really been struggling with a sharp new molar. He hasn't really let us get a good look at it, so tonight at bathtime Robb got him giggling and I tried to snap a photo. It was insanely fun, and out of several dozen frames, there were actually a few that gave us a glimpse of the jagged little intruder.

Surprise from the North

What could possibly have arrived in this gunnysack from the arctic?

Something that requires inflating...
(Note ridiculously excited expression on Robb's face.)

Ahoy, Mateys!

Dad made the mistake some time ago of mentioning that he knew a guide who had some old river rafts he wanted to get rid of. Well, Robb got the notion that he would like one and has been pestering dad to find out about getting one ever since. I think it has actually been a year or so.

The last few times we asked about it, dad led us to believe that the guy would be gone for the rest of the year, and that he would check on it next spring. So when a giant gunnysack showed up on our doorstep today, we were pretty blown away.

Thanks guys, we can't wait to get this in the water.

Livingroom Fort Day 2

Follow the trail of colored pencils.

I left up the little fort to see if Ezekiel would find it on his own again. I shouldn't have wondered.

Livingroom Fort

I love discovering things that entertain Ezekiel while I work at the computer. Today it was a little blanket fort from the corner of the sofa. We hung out in it and studied the lines of light through the blanket ceiling, then I got back to work. Later in the day he found his way back to lounge and gnaw on some stuff. (He seems to be cutting at least three teeth at the moment.)

Sunday Project

I wonder what Daddy is doing...

Robb decided to tackle the issue of our shed today. It has been a bit disorganized, so he is putting in shelves. Ezekiel spent the day exploring drill bits, crawling around in the debris and staring out the window longing to be back in the debris.

When the project is done, I'm going to organize everything in bins. I'm so eager to get to the organizing part. Is anyone else this nerdy about establishing order?

Tough Guy

Black flip-flops kind of family.

What, THIS lens cap?

I love this little black "muscle" shirt on Ezekiel. His arms are so cute and squishy!

Dad's Car Wash

I see the truck isn't the only one that needs washing.

Doesn't it look like he's cooking up some mischief?

Zeke helpfully points out every bird and plane.

Robb took Ezekiel out to wash the truck this afternoon. The bed of the truck makes a perfect playpen so it was the best of both worlds for all concerned. I got the house cleaned. Robb got the truck washed. Ezekiel got to splash and play in water.
