The Sitters

Our night out was facilitated by Nana and Papa stepping in to sit. Zeke got to do plenty of play dough art with Papa. Talk about a hit! Also, it looks like Abigail takes her sitting duties very seriously. She somehow believes that she is in charge of Lincoln, and doesn't let him out of her sight. Good dog.

When play dough is played out, it is time for some iPad exploring.

Zeke's sandwich and kitty cat sculpture. He got no help with this.

The Sweetness

Today we celebrate our seventh year together. We're going to go out to eat at the Marc, but first, our bees. They arrived a few days ago in a little wire box. We had a hive all ready for them, and we've been pretty excited to do our first hive check. Tonight was the night. They look to be doing well so far. They've downed a fair amount of sugar water and are setting up their new home. We even got to see the queen. This is going to be so much fun.

Bath Time Fun

Bath time is a rip-roaring good time, especially now that both boys are big enough for the tub. Robb endures so much splashing, but also contributes to some.

Zeke puts his foot in his mouth.

Classic. Cars.

Riding the vintage tractors.

Since it is alumni weekend in Walla Walla (and somebody's tenth reunion) we decided to stop by the classic car show. Zeke was pretty enamored of all the cars, trucks and tractors. He was particularly fond of the little Road Runner stickers that graced many a bumper.

A wolf mascot and some popcorn!

Playing with his bud, Oliver.

Those Eyes

I can't get enough.

First Tooth

Following a week of serious drool and some crankiness, Lincoln finally got a tooth. He demonstrated this little accomplishment by gleefully gnawing on my knuckle. And though I would love to get a picture of this little wonder, Lincoln is completely non-cooperative when it comes to his face. He hates any sort of picking or prodding.

Making Tracks

Zeke and Gabby find alternate uses for his train tracks.

Nanapapa.

The boys were so excited to see their Nana and Papa tonight. We look forward to a fun weekend!

Smith Sunday

We got the chance to hang out with the Smith family this morning. We took in a pancake feed and watched a fishing derby at Lion's Park. Of course, no trip to this location would be complete without a visit to the playground.

Somehow the amount of pancakes we were served wasn't quite enough. We headed back to our place for a little more breakfast and playtime for the boys.

Gabby Boys

I think these three were happy to be back together. So many smiles.

Family Time

We don't need much of an excuse to get the family together, so this weekend we had a pretty good turnout. Everett and Jelinda made it, so we got to cuddle on Evan. Then Pat and John drove over from Walla Walla and Liz and Peter made the trek as well. We all met up at church and enjoyed an afternoon and evening of good food, great conversation and a few trips down memory lane.

Evan practices her dental skills on anyone who will let her.

Lincoln gets to know Great Grandma Edna.

Cabin Site

He can't wait to get outside.

We took some time today to hang out at the new cabin site. There is a good fire going and we all had fun imagining how the different views would be.

Dad paces off the dimensions. Classic.

Lincoln Love

Lincoln has us all wrapped around his chubby little finger. He had Great Uncle Larry giving him bottles every time he whimpered.

And Grandpa Jim would put him in the backpack and tote him around when he seemed bored or whiny. They actually made it all the way over to Larry's this morning and spent several hours playing two men and a little baby.

So happy, he's clapping his hands.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch

Gabby is taking great care of the chickies while we're away. They are egg-laying wonders this spring. We usually have four or five dozen eggs in the fridge at any given time, so let us know if you need some!

Frontier Mama

When in a pinch, this lady knows how to do things old school. The linens needed freshening up, so she took care of it. Thanks, mom!

Work Ready

Zeke and Robb, outfitted in vintage Craik Lumber hats.

Zeke was excited to get all geared up and go outside today. He wore his sturdy, insulated overalls and got to ride around on the quad "helping" daddy. He even got to pose with one of the new stumps.

A Cabin on the Move

Buster's Cabin. It has been in this location for as long as I can remember. I think it was built before I was born? My family lived in it while working on the "big house" and one summer my cousins and I cleaned it up and slept there for awhile.

It holds a special place in my memories. So, when we chose this as the site for the new cabin, it was a bit weird to know that Buster's Cabin would be moved. Leave it to dad and Larry, those guys can do anything.
They always seem to have the right tools for the job.

Mobile home?

The cabin safely traveled down the hill.
