It was snowing last night, and by this morning we had accumulated a few inches of the powdery white stuff. Since the forecast was calling for more, we got on the road as quickly as possible.
Nothing is better than s'mores after a cold day in the snow. Robb and Annaliese ran out for supplies after our walk and came back with Cinnamon Graham Crackers. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a s'more more.
A walk in the snow seemed like a great idea. It took quite awhile to get us all bundled up enough to go out in the chill, and then we only made it up to the gate before the subzero temperatures had us heading back to the warmth of the fire.
Dashing through the snow on the way to the chicken house.
McKenna and Annaliese take their chores very seriously. Robb and I had too much fun going with them to feed and water the chickens and check for eggs. These girls know how to work!
The girls impart some wisdom to their young cousin.
A trip to Montana was way overdue, so we packed up the car and headed out last night. We hit snow right before Spokane and the roads the rest of the way there were sketchy, but we made it through. How delightful to be with our dear family for a weekend!
Here are some Ezekiel samples from a fun little iPhone app (not OUR iPhone). Essentially, it lets you reverse years of technological advances as you hearken back to the good ol' days of Lomography and Polaroids.
Sweet! We don't have to buy anymore toys for this kid. Ezekiel spent a good part of the day playing with packing materials. (I think the cat was secretly trying to barricade herself behind the boxes.)
I had a tidy pile of printouts and sketches that I was working on when Ezekiel wiggled over and started rearranging them. Somehow the wrinkles and torn edges only make me smile.
Since pecans are Robb's favorite I decided to try my hand at a pie for Valentine's Day. It wasn't as complicated as I'd imagined, but it was decadent evil so we ate it as quickly as possible. Many thanks to the Bolingers for the sweet stash of pecans.
